“You’ll get all my things when I’m gone,” my Great Aunt Jim told me the last time I saw her. “The doctor says I’m going to die. I told him I’d rather die than live like this. I get up and look in the mirror and my eyes are as yellow as they can be. I look like Popeye.” Hearing his name, Popeye, her manic Boston terrier, twitched wildly and jumped into her lap.
